Former Farmer Here Succumbs

C. K. Soost, 90, died at a Mankato, Minn, hospital June 14 following surgery. He had been admitted to the hospital June 3. Funeral services were held June 18 at the Assembly of God church. Burial was at Ireton.

Mr. Soost was born September 6, 1867, at Mecklinburg, Germany, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Soost.

In 1872 he came to America with his parents and settled in eastern Iowa. At the age of 21 he and his brother, William, moved to western Iowa and settled on farms near Hawarden.

He married Minnie Boerner of Chicago January 18, 1905, at Le Mars. In 1927 they moved to a farm near Mankato and had resided there since that time. In 1955 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

Mr. Soost is survived by the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Wallace (Marie) Haukoos of Estherville and Mrs. Myron (Elsie) Hauskins of Blue Earth, Minn.; four sons, Elmer of New Richland and John Walter and Edward of Wells, Minn.; 23 grandchildren and 5 Henry of Wells, also survives.

Preceding him in death were a brother, William, and a sister, Ida Rockman, and sons Fred and Carl, who died in infancy.
