Dies At Age 54

Funeral services for Norman Anderson, 54, who died in the local hospital Saturday afternoon, were held Tuesday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran church with Rev. 0. F. Pittack conducting the service. Interment was made in Grace Hill cemetery with the Barnard Funeral home in charge. Mrs. Ralph Gregg, Jr., was the vocalist with Mrs. Hal Shoemaker at the organ. Casket bearers were Alfred Falk, Harry Bultman, Walter Huebner, Donald Bultman, Orville Draayer and George Anderburg.

Norman Clifford Anderson, son of Carl Anderson and wife, Cora, nee Munson, was born on August 29, 1908, at Mabel, Minn., and at the age of four months he accompanied his parents to Hawarden. He continued to live in this community during his entire lifetime.

On January 27, 1934, he married Mable Soost, Rev. George Steinkamp performing the ceremony. He worked for the railroad about three years and then moved to a farm five miles southeast of Hawarden. Besides being engaged in farming he also worked at carpentry during the early fifties. Although he continued his residency on the farm, he discontinued farming about five years ago and entered into partnership with his brothers in house moving and construction work. He became a member of Trinity congregation May 21, 1939, in the solemn rite of confirmation at which Rev. C. A. Burkhart officiated. Apparently always in good health, he became seriously ill during the past summer and entered a hospital at Rochester, Minn., and remained under constant treatment since then. He was a patient at the local hospital during the past month.

Preceding him in death were one brother, Palmer, and one sister, Myrtle.

Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Ardis of Sioux Falls and Merlene at home; his parents; three brothers, Lei and, Kenneth and Lindy, and one sister, Dorothy (Mrs. Leo) Schumacher, ail of Hawarden.
