Mabel Minnie Anderson, 88, of Hawarden died Thursday, August 16, at Covington Heights in Sioux Falls. Services were Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden with the Rev. Loren Vogler officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill Cemetery, Hawarden.

Mrs. Anderson was born April 16, 1913, in Hawarden, the daughter of William and Mata (Miller) Soost. She married Norman Clifford Anderson on January 27, 1934, in Hawarden. They lived on a form south of Hawarden until his death on February 16, 1963. She moved into Hawarden, where she worked at Otis Radio and later at Peterson Shoe Store. She moved into Hillcrest Health Care Center and then to Covington Heights. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Ardis Anderson of Sioux Falls and Merlene and her husband Robert Batchelder of Rapid City, South Dakota; two sisters, Esther Soost and Florence Soost, both of Sioux Falls; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a half-brother, Harry Stief; and a half-sister, Edna Abbey,
