Florence Heemskerk
Florence "Flossie" Heemskerk, 63, of Boyden died Wednesday, November 13, at the Sioux Center hospital. Services were Saturday at the
United Presbyterian Church in Boyden with the Rev. John Goert officiating. Burial was In the Boyden Cemetery.
Heemskerk was born April 20, 1928. in Boyden, the daughter of George P. and Maude (Jansma)
Reimers. She married Wilbur Heemskerk on'January 15, 1946, in Boyden. He died May 28, 1989. She
was employed at Smit & Son, Inc., for 33 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Baerenwald of Jasper, Minnesota, and Jill Beyer of Hull; a son, Denis of Worthington, Minnesota; two sisters, Nel Diekevers of Boyden and May Lode of Hawaiian Gardens, California; three grandchildren, Kristy Swenson, Amy Ripperda
and Alesha Heemskerk; and three great-grandchildren, Karl Jo, NIchole Lynn and Alece Noel Swenson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
