Services held for Wilbur Heemskerk
Wilbur "Hempy" Heemskerk, 60, of Boyden, died Sunday, May 28, 1989, at a Sheldon hospital.
Services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 1989, at the United Presbyterian Church in Boyden with the Rev. John Goertz officiating. Burial was in the Boyden Cemetery.
Mr. Heemskerk was born May 3, 1929, at Hills, Minn. He married Florence "Flosie" Reimers Jan. 15, 1946, at Boyden. He was employed by
Smit & Son Packing Co. of Boyden the last 38 years.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Linda) Baerenwald of Inwood and Mrs. Alan (Jill) Beyer of Hull; a son, Dennis of Worthington, Minn.; his mother, Mrs. Margaret
Heemskerk of Boyden; two sisters, Marian Zevenbergen of Sibley, and Mrs. Gerry (Joan) Vander Meulen of Ocheyedan; a brother, Marvin of
Boyden; three grandchildren, Kristy Swenson, Amy Baerenwald and Alesha Heemskerk, and two great-grandchildren, Kari Jo Swenson and Nichole Lynn
Swenson.
He was preceded in death by his father.
