Conrad De Jong passed away suddenly early Sunday morning, April 4, 1948 at his home in Maurice, Iowa.
Mr. De Jong was born Jan. 24, 1880 at Maurice. He was a son of Mr. & Mrs. Jacobus De Jong, and was raised on the old home farm where he was born. On Mar. 14, 1907 he was united in marriage with Anna Mouw, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Gerrit Mouw. They spent the first 37 years of their married life on the farm 3 miles east of Maurice.
Surviving him are his widow, and 2 children, (Esther) Mrs. J. Hotalen of Fort Walton, Florida and William of Orange City. He also leaves five grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, Hubert De Jong of Hospers; Rev. Fred De Jong of Grayhawk, Kentucky, (Anna) Mrs. Peter Van Roekel of Orange City; (Tillie) Mrs. Wm. Duven of Cherokee and Bertha De Jong of Hull. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Minnie and (Hattie) Mrs. J. De Kock.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 8 at 1:00 o'clock at the home and at 1:30 at the First Reformed Church in Maurice. Rev. J. Roggen will officiate and burial will be in the Maurice Cemetery.
