Clarence De Jong, 63, died August 27 at a Sioux City nursing home following a long illness.

Services were August 31 at Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley. The Rev. Roger Bultman officiated. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery at Doon.

Mr. De Jong was born Dec. 16, 1917 at Doon. He married Edna Mae Mulder on April 17, 1942 at Rock Rapids. He lived in Sioux City the past 13 years.

Survivors include three sons, Wendell of Sheldon, Carlen of Denver, CO, and Larry of Lawton, IA; two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Karen) Watson of New Orleans and Belinda Hartmann of Sioux City; one brother, Jake of Hull, and 10 grandchildren.
