Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the home and at the First Reformed Church for Arthur Reekers, 82, who passed away May 4, after a long illness. During the service a quartet composed of Ben Hyink, Gerald De Hoogh, William Niewendorp and William Ten Kley sang two selections. Where We'll Never Grow Old and It is Well with My Soul. Pallbearers were John Colsman, Fred Teeseling, Sr., Henry Balt, C. Van Dam, Lambert Rozebroom and W. P. Iverson, with burial in East Lawn Cemetery.
Out of town attendants at the services were Mr. & Mrs. Len DeBeer, Mrs. Bouke De Boer, Mr. & Mrs. Ben Wiersma, Neal Beukelman and Will Draayom, all of Corsica, SD; Aalt Boeve, Henry Boeve and Mr. & Mrs. Arie Boeve of Hull; John Ter Horst, Mr. & Mrs. Arie Reekders, Mr. & Mrs. John Reekers, Mr. & Mrs. Abe Van Peursem and Mr. & Mrs. John Heemstra, all of Orange City; Mr. & Mrs. John Hyink of Melvin, Mr. & Mrs. Walter Borchard of Spencer, Mr. & Mrs. Otto Pekelder of Sutherland and Art Reekers, Jr. of San Pedro, California.
