Reekers, Mrs. Aart - 1865-1924

Mrs. Aart Reekers, nee Boelman, was born at Holland, MI, October 9, 1865, and died near Little Rock, Iowa, January 11, 1924, at 5:30 in the afternoon at the age of 58 years, 3 months and 2 days.

Death resulted from a stroke of paralysis on the 8th of January as she was attending the wedding of her son, John, at the Nagel home near Little Rock.

The funeral was held in the home in Sheldon at 12:30 on Tuesday, followed by services at the First Reformed Church at one o'clock. Rev. Mulder conducted services in Holland and Rev. Vis in English.

Mrs. Reekers was a member of the First Reformed Churcy by baptism and was a regular attendant.

The immediate relatives left to mourn her demise are the husband, five sons and five daughters and an adopted daughter. The sons and daughters all live in this vicinity and are as follows: Albert Reekers, Mrs. Wm. Struyk, Mrs. John Kleinwolterink, John Reekers, Mrs. Bert Van Roekel, Henry Reekers, Mrs. Albert Peckelder, Joe, Bart and Gertrude Reekers and the adopted daughter Esther.

The brothers and sisters are: Rev. H. De Beer, of Bassaic, New Jersey; Dan DeBeer of Spirit Lake; L. J. DeBeer and Mrs. D. DeBeer of Corsica, SD. All wer in attendance at the funeral except Rev. DeBeer of New Jersey.
