Grace Henrietta Dykhuizen,86,Orange City, died Wednesday, March 31, at Happy Siesta Nursing Home in Remsen. Services were Saturday April 3, at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Rev. Jeffrey Sajdak officiating. Burial was at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City under the direction of Oolman Funeral home in Orange City.

Grace Dykhuizen, daughter of Gerrit and Nellie(Hofland) Fedders, was born May 3, 1917, in rural Orange City, where she was raised. She moved into town as a young adult. She married Neal Dykhuizen on April 10, 1941, in Orange City. They made their home in Orange City , where she was a seamstress at De Vries Drapery for 13 years. She also assisted her husband at Neal's Shoe Store. Mr. Dykhuizen died May 27, 1989 in Orange City. In March 2000, she became a resident of Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City and , in October 2001 transfered to Happy Siesta. She was a member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church and the Monica Society. She enjoyed sewing and caring for her flowers.

Survivors include four children, Nelva and Robert Rowenhorst of Orange City, Fred and Carolyn Dykhuizen of Estherville, Marlene and Brad Calsbeek of Glyndon, MN., and Marlys and Sal Sciandra of Clinton Township, MI; nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Harriet Fedders of Orange City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal; a grandson Victor Dykhuizen; five brother, Ben, John, Gerrit, Marinus and Herm Fedders; a sister Kate Jaspers; and a brother and sister in infancy.
