Peter De Groot,71,of Sioux Center died Thursday, November 28, at a Sioux City hospital. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Faith Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. The Rev. David Smit officicated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Family visitation was held Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr.De Groot was born Sept.24, 1914 at Ireton and he attended school at Ireton and rural Maurice. He married Alice Addink on Feb 3, 1938, near Maurice, and the couple made their home in rural Orange City. They moved to rural Maurice in 1952 and to Sioux Center in 1977. He was member of the Faith Christian Reformed Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Allen at home, John of Maurice; a daughter Agnes "Noop" De Groot of Sioux Center; four sisters, Mrs.Alfred (Elise)Wissink of Wyoming, Mich., Mrs.Gene(Janet) Wagner of Austin, Texas, Mrs. Cornelius(Dorothy)Vander Stelt of Sioux Center, and Mrs.Marion(Sadie)Van Peursem of Maurice and four grandchildren
