DEBOER, HOFMEYER, MILLER

Clarence Alfred De Boer,76,of Hull died Thursday, June 9, at Valley Manor in Rock Valley. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 13 at First Reformed Church in Hull with the Rev. Gerald Vander Velde officiating. Burial was in the Hope Cemetery in Hull.

De Boer was born Jun 27, 1917, in rural Hull, the son of Charles and Johanna (Hofmeyer) De Boer. He was rasied in Hull and graduated from high school as salutatorian of his class. He served in the U.S. Army for two years during World War II. He Married Mary E. Miller on August 6, 1944, at Yakima, Washington. After the war, they made their home in Hull. He was associated with AMPI for 33 years, employed at creameries in Hull,Sioux Center and Sanborn. He retired in June 1982. De Boer was a lifetime member of First Reformed Church of Hull where he served as Sunday school treasurer for 47 years and was a member of the Men's Brotherhood. He also was a member of the American Rose Society in Sioux Falls and the Hull Kiwanis. He was a former member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife; two sons Jerry L. and his wife Leona of Hull and David J. of St. Paul, Minnesota; two daugthers and their husbands, Nattalee A. and Ken Van Oort of Rock Valley and Barbara M. and Lynn Grotluschen of George; a brother and his wife Gilbert and Etta of Colorado Spring, Colorado; two sisters Ellen De Leeuw and Bernice Vande Griend and her husband Andy, all of Hull; a sister-in-law, Berneice De Boer of Adrian, Minnesota and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson; and three brothers Dowie, August and Gerrit.
