Faye Joan Dunn, 73, of rural Marcus died Friday, April 1, 2005, at her home following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, April 5 at 11:00 A.M., at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen. Graveside services were held at 10:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Cenetery, rural Marcus, under the direction of the Earnest-Rohde Funeral Home, Marcus.

Faye was born Aug. 9, 1931, on a farm in Capel Township, Sioux County, the daughter of Marion & Sophia (VanWyk) DeGraaf. She graduated from Orange City High School in 1950. After graduation she worked at the Sioux County Courthouse.

Fay married Gerald F. "Jerry" Dunn on Aug, 5, 1951, at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen where she was an active member. They lived in the Remsen area until they moved to their home south of Marcus in 1958.

She was an active sports enthusiast. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking, bowling, crossword puzzles and spending time with family and friends. She was active in the farm operation and did the bookkeeping. She worked several years at Job Service of Iowa in Cherokee.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry of rural Marcus; a son, James and his wife Deb of Waterloo; two daughters, Jeralyn Volkert of Marcus and Jana and her husband Brad Welp of Greencastle, Ind; a sister, Shirley Ward of Santa Rosa, CA; five grandchildren, Jenny Volkert of Omaha NE., John Volkert of Cedar Falls, Jody Noteboom of Florissant, CO, and Jay & Jerry Ann Welp of Greencastle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant son, David.
