Jennie Heemstra, 82, passed away February
27, 1991, at Primghar, Iowa.
Services were held Monday, March 4, at 10:30
a.m. at the American Reformed Church, Primghar, with Rev. Bruce Kuiper and Rev. Gerald Dykstra officiating. Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery of Primghar, with arrangements under the care of Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.
Jennie Heerrfstra, the daughter of Case and
Lillian Van Iperen Van Kley was born August 29,
1908, in Hospers, Iowa. She received her
education in the Hospers area, pn January 9,
1929 she was united in marriage to Jake Heemstra in Sibley, Iowa. After their marriage the couple farmed in O'Brien County on various farms before moving east of Primghar. They farmed there for many years before moving into Primghar in 1985. Jennie passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 1991, at the Baum-Harmon Hospital in Primghar reaching the age of 82 years, 5 months and 28 days.
She was a member of the American Reformed Church in Primghar, the RCW of the church and for many years was a Sunday School teacher.
Jennie leaves to cherish her memory her husband Jake of Primghar, four sons and daughters-in-law Gerald and Audrey of Norwalk, Calif., Calvin and Beverly of Orange City, Larry and Lois of Primghar and Arvin and Kathy of Grand Forks, N.D., twenty grandchildren, of which 12 randsons were pallbearers and eight granddaughters, 21 greatgrandchildren, five brothers, Arie Van Kley of Ocheyedan, Alvin Van Kley of Sibley, Bert Van
Kley of Allendorf, Cornie and Willis Van Kley of
Sanborn, three sisters, Mrs. Marie Bonsma of
Allendorf, Mrs. Stella Schiernbeck of Sibley and
Mrs. Hilda Roelfs of Ashton, also many nieces
and nephews and a host of other relatives and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law Joann and one brother Steven.
