Gregg, Sr. Mrs. Ralph (Jennie) - 1889-1974

Mrs. Ralph Gregg, Sr., 84, died at the Mapes Nursing Home, Feb. 2. Services were held Feb. 4 at the Associated Church with Rev. Herbert Young officiating. Interment was at Grace Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Dow Funeral Home.

Jennie Mildred Frazee was born Dec. 13, 1889 at Princeton, IL. She was the daughter of Annar & Milford Franzee. She completed her high school education at Princeton, IL. The family moved to Cedar Rapids, IA in the early 1900's. She married Ralph Gregg, Sr., Oct. 10, 1918 and they farmed in the Hawarden area until his death Mar. 12, 1960. Jennie was a member of the Associated Church of Hawarden, the Women's Fellowship and Sewing Circle.

Being in poor health for many years, she had been a resident of the Mapes Nursing Home for nearly 16 years.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, Ralph; were her parents, four sisters, Lillian, Winifred, Fannibelle and Edna, and two brothers, Gene and Guy.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph, Jr. and Arthur and four grandchildren, Joan, David, Barbara and Charles.

Casket bearers were Glenn Hodgson, Paul Venard, Ralph Bruget, Norman Degen, Calvin Smith and Harold Heldt. Organist was Mrs. Hal Shoemaker and soloist was Mr. Hal Shoemaker.
