Constance (Rames-Smith) Boyer, 65 of Ireton, died Friday, May 24, 2002 at the Happy Siesta Nursing Home in Remsen. Funeral service was Tuesday at St. John's Luthern Church rural Ireton with the Rev. H. H. Schauland officiating. Burial was in the St. John's Cemetery, Porter Funeral Home in Ireton was in charge of arrangements.

Constance (Rames-Smith) Boyer was born May 21, 1937 in Olivet, SD to Clarence and Nanna (Jensen) Rames. She attended Washington High School in Sioux Falls, graduating in 1955. She married Jerry Boyer, Dec. 16, 1978 in Sioux Falls and moved to Ireton. She was employed at American Identity in Orange City. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her parents, Clarence & Nanna Rames of Sioux Falls, husband, Jerry Boyer of Ireton; two brothers, Donald Rames of Sioux Falls, and Gary Rames of Sioux Falls; three sons, Randy Smith of Sioux City, Bryan Smith of LeMars, and Thad Boyer of Sgt. Bluff; two daughters, Pam Cook of Macy, NE, and Lea Boyer of Wynot, NE; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Rames.
