Mrs. Dora De Boer, 93, of Pella, Iowa, passed away April 23, 1982 at the Pella Community Nursing Home.

Services were April 26, 1982 at the Second Christian Reformed Church in Pella with the Rev. Bruce Leiter officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery of Pella under the direction of Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home.

Mrs. De Boer was born on February 28, 1889 to Mr. & Mrs. Peter De Vries in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. Mrs. De Boer came to the United States at the age of 21 with a friend, the late Anna Hof, and settled near Hospers.

Mrs. De Boer was united in marriage on October 4, 1914 to Garrett De Boer at Ocheyedan, Iowa. The couple had four children: Peter, Martha, Theodore and Richard.

The couple farmed at Sanborn, Iowa for eight years and then were in the grocery business in Doon, Iowa. In 1931 they moved to Pella where they continued to live the remainder of their lifetimes. Garrett passed away November 10, 1980 and since March of 1981, Mrs. De Boer had been cared for at the Pella Community Nursing Home.

Mrs. De Boer was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Fred De Vries.

She is survived by her children and their wives and husbands: Peter & Anna De Boer; Martha & Harold Slings, all of Pella; Theodore De Boer of Glendale, CA; Richard & Rita De Boer of Grand Rapids, MI; 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. De Boer was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church of Pella where she belonged to the Priscilla Society. She was a charter member of the Pella Christian HighSchool Auxiliary.

Memorials may be designated for the Pella Christian High School in Pella, Iowa.
