Mrs. Gordon Dearborn, 60, of Council Bluffs, died Saturday following a heart attack.

Mrs. Dearborn was well known by many in Hawarden and vicinity. For many years she lived at Rock Valley but about a year ago she moved with her husband to Council Bluffs.

Funeral services were held Monday evening at Council Bluffs and another service was held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Church at Rock Valley, with Rev. Jones officiating. Burial was at Rock Valley.

Survivors are the widower; one son, Gerrit (Sonny) Dearborn, who is employed at the Forget-Me-Not florist in Hawarden; a daughter, Mrs. Harvey Larson and a grandson of Council Bluffs, and three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. George Brandsma and Henry Vugteveen of Hawarden; Wm. Vugteveen and Mrs. John Dykstra of Rock Valley, Gerrit Vugteveen of Princeton, MN, and Mrs. Clarence De Vries of Zeeland, MI.

Besides the Brandsma and Vugteveen families Hawarden people who attended the funeral at Rock Valley include Mrs. Guy Hodgson, Ms. John Louwerse, Ms. Ted Miller, Mrs. Don Barnard, Jerry Lankhorst, and Mrs. L. M. Seriven.
