Sheldon - Funeral services for Emma Ehlers, 99, were held Oct. 14, 1985 at 10:30 A.M., in the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Sheldon. Monsignor Thomas Donahoe officiated with burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Mrs. Ehlers passed away Oct. 12, at Prairie View Retirement Home, Sanborn. The Sanborn Funeral Home Service was in charge of the arrangements.
The daughter of John & Mary (Hermann) Brandenburg, she was born Nov. 26, 1885 in Baker Township near Hospers. She attended country schools near Hospers and Alton and later taught school near Hospers and Granville.
She married Joseph Ehlers, Nov. 8, 1911, at St. Anthony's Church, Hospers. Following their marriage they resided in Hospers, Alton and Sheldon. She entered Prairie View on Nov. 11, 1967.
She is survived by one son, Milo, Milford; two daughters, Mary DeBois, Des Moines; and Mavis Peterman, Melbourne, OH; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Marcel; two grandsons; and one granddaughter.
