Former Orange City Resident dies.
John May, 51, former O. C. resident and proprietor of the Corner Cafe here for several years passed away at his home at Spirit Lake, IA. thursday aug 18 at 2:30 o'clock in the morning. Death was due to an illness with cancer which he suffered since last February. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Methodist Church at Spirit Lake.
Mr. May was born and reared in Kansas. His wife was formerly Gertrude Johnson of Boyden. They were the parents of 4 children; Robert and Jackson at home with their mother: William, Living at Spirit Lake and Betty, Mr. Don Webster of Los Angeles, CA.
Attending the funeral of their brother were Mr. and Mrs. Hessel Van Eizenga. Other relatives attending were Mrs. Anna van Meeveren, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Vogelaar and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ver Hoeven.
