The funeral of Ardess Day, 11 year old daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Delbert Day, was held Saturday afternoon at the home at 1 o'clock and at the Presbyterian Church at 2 o'clock with Rev. Roy Smith in charge. A large number of friends and neighbors, besides many relatives were present to pay their last respects to the departed one. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. The services were very toucing and conforting.

Ardess had been a long and patient sufferer. For months her life has been despaired of, being at death's door several times only to brighten up and apparently gain against the disease, which had all but sapped her life. She spent some time in the Hawarden hospital where she endeared herself to all who made her acquaintance. She was a lovable child and the parents will miss the sunshine that she brought to the home. Besided her sorrowing parents she is survived by two sisters, Carol, aged 7, and Wanda, aged 1, and one brother, Berdell, aged 3. These have the sympathy of all in the community.

Ardess passed away a little before midnight last Wednesday, July 20th, at the home of her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. George Brown, here in Ireton, the cause of her death being leakage of the heart with complications.
