BORN: December 14, 1914, Boyden, Iowa
PASSED AWAY: January 25, 1994, Mesa, Arizona
AGE: 79 years, 1 month, 11 days
FUNERAL SERVICE; Tuesday, February 1, 1994, First Reformed Church, Boyden, Iowa
INTERMENT: Sheridan Township Cemetery, Boyden, Iowa

Hildred Marion, who was nicknamed "Yonk", was the son of John and Henrietta (Wandscheer) Dykstra. He was the first baby baptized in the then new sanctuary of the First Reformed Church in Boyden. He was raised at Boyden and on June 28, 1939, he married Bertha Jeanette Koerselman at Boyden.
In earlier years Mr. Dykstra did corn shelling and threshing with his father. During World War II, after receiving a medical rejection from the military, he worked in a bomber plant at Omaha, Nebraska. From 1946 to 1957, Mr. and Mrs. Dykstra farmed south of Boyden. They then moved to Madelia, Minnesota, where he owned and operated the H.M. Dykstra Bus Service, retiring in 1979. In 1986, they moved to Arizona.
He was currently a member of the New Hope Community Reformed Church of Gilbert, Arizona. Besides being a former member of the First Reformed Church of Boyden, he had also been a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Madelia, serving as an elder at both of these churches.
Survivors include his wife; son, the Rev. Lyle Dykstra, and his wife, Terry, of Wilmington, Delaware; and two granddaughters, Lisa and Jennifer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Dykstra and a sister, Jeanette Boerhave.
