The community was greatly saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. Joe Bryson, who passed away Tuesday morning at her home in the north part of town, leaving a husband and six children. Her death came six days after giving birth to a child. Funeral services wee held at the Methodist church, Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. A. Winterstein, the pastor. Burial was made in Grace Hill cemetery.
Emily May Terrill was born in Beadle County, SD, near Osceola, May 12, 1888, and died June 14, 1921, at the age of 33 years, 1 month and 2 days. She moved with her father's family, of which she was the youngest child, to Hawarden in 1896, and has been a continuous resident of this community since that time. She was united in marriage with Joe Bryson, Nov. 20, 1907, in this city. Eight children were born to them, six of whom are living; Deeta, Alice, Clare, Loren, Merel and little Ella Mae, who was but six days old when the mother died. Mrs. Bryson's death is not only a great loss to her husband and young children, but to the entire community, for, as one who knew her intimately states: "She leaves no enemies; she suffered much in her last illness, but never murmured." Besides her husband and children, she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary L. Terrill of this city; four sisters, Mrs. Chas. Deerside of Iroquois, SD; Mrs. Hulda Myers of Huron, SD; Mrs. Hiram Kelly of Sioux City, and Mrs. Walt Pocklington of this city; and two brothers, Harry of Saskatchewan, Can.; and Milton of Luverne, MN. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the grief stricken husband and childrens mother, sisters and brothers.
