Mrs. Cecil Booth, 47, of Fairview, SD, died last Friday morning of a heart attack in St. Mary's cemetery.
Mrs. Booth was sitting in the car while Mr. Booth and her sister, Mrs. Vesta Bajula, were decorating graves in the family plot. Almost instantly after Mr. Booth noticed that his wife was ill she died.
She had been ill for a number of years and just recently had been a patient in a Sioux City hospital. Three weeks prior to her death she came to Hawarden and stayed with her sister.
Mary Southwick, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Seward Southwick, was born in Hawarden, April 8, 1905, and lived here until her marriage, November 16,1938, when she moved to Fairview. She is survived by the widower and her sister.
Rosary was read Sunday evening at the Barnard Funeral Home, and the funeral services were at 9:30 Monday morning at St. Mary's church with Rev. Fr. R. Graff officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery.
Out of town persons who came for the funeral were Melvin Booth of Alberquerque, NM; Mrs. Oden Olsen and Barton Farrell of Slayton, MN, and a number of people from Fairview.
