Myrtle Wesselink, 85, of Rock Valley died Friday, June 26, at Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 29, at First Reformed Church of Rock Valley with the Rev. Harlan De Jong officiating. Burial was in Carmel Cemetery.
The former Myrtle Vande Brake was born January 4, 1907, at Maurice, the daughter of George and Gertie Vande Brake. She graduated from Maurice High School. She married Harold Wesselink, December 27, 1929. They farmed in the Carmel area until moving to Rock Valley in 1966. She worked for Hope Haven for several years. He died August 13, 1971. She moved into Valley Manor, May 13, 1992.
She was active in First Reformed Church and taught Sunday School.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Ramona and Edwin Van Der Weide of Sioux Center; a brother and his wife, Clarence and Mabel Vande Brake; a sister and her husband, Dorothy and Bill Pedersen, all of Portland, Oregon; four grandchildren, Randy Van Der Weide, Rick Van Der Weide, Jeri Van Regenmorter, Mrs. Mike (Kim) Adams; and seven great-grandchildren.
