Rachel Lawrence, 88, of Doon, died Sunday, February 23, in a nursing home in Rock Valley.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, in the First Congregational Church in Doon. The Rev. Tim Mason officiated. Burial
was in Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids.
Mrs. Lawrence, the former Rachel,Reynolds, was born September 18, 1897, near doon. They farmed in Montevideo, Minn., until 1935 when they moved to a farm near Doon. He died in 1966.
Mrs. Lawrence was a member of the Womans Club, First Congregational Church and Mayflower Guild and a past member of the Doon Library Board.
Survivors include three sons, Galen of Doon, Dewey of Spencer, and Howard of Citrus Springs, FJa.; a daughter, Beverly Jane Ranschau of
Rock Valley; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
