Doris G. Landau, 80, of Hawarden, died Thursday Dec 30,1999 at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Memorial service was at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Hawarden, with the Rev. Dean Shelly officiating. Porter Funeral Home of Hawarden was in charge of arrangements.
Doris G Landau was born Sept. 12, 1919, the daughter of Charles and Dora (Baughman) Haines in Coggon, Iowa.
She attended Drake University in Des Moines in 1940-1941 and then graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1944. She practiced in Blairstown, Iowa then in Sioux City. She married Bert E. Landau on Dec. 31,1946 in Sioux City. They lived in Sioux City for one year before moving to Hawarden in 1947 where he practiced for 35 years. They retired to Sedona, Ariz. in 1984 and lived 12 years before returning to Hawarden in 1996. Mr Landau died on Dec. 25,1998.
Mrs. Landau was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hawarden and the Mutual Improvement Club. She sang for many years in the United Methodist Church choir.
She is survived by six sons, Gregory and wife Debby of Scottsdale, Ariz Gary and wife Mary of DeWitt, Iowa, Steven of Baltimore, Md., James and wife Candee, and William and wife Peggy of Hawarden. Jeff and wife Carrie of Tucson Ariz., one brother, Hal Haines and wife Mary of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild
