Mr. H. J. Massink Dies After Brief Illness
Mr. Henry John Massink passed away on July 27, 1946 at the age of 82 years. He was only ill for a very short time, having suffered from a stroke.
Mr. Massink was born at Arnhem, Netherlands on Jan. 2, 1864. In the year ot 1905 he came to America and settled near Pella, Iowa. Five years
later the family moved to Sioux county and settled on a farm near Sioux Center where they farmed until 1920. Since that time he made his home in town.
He was preceded in death by his wife who passed away on May 19, 1932 and two step children Marion and Elsie (Mrs. Peter Van Driel).
Surviving him are five step children Mrs. Karel Jansen of Oosterbeek, Netherlands, Egbert Hooyer, Tunis Hooyer and Mrs. Wm. Broek all of
Sioux Center and Mrs. Sam Bijker of Hawarden.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, July 30 at o'ne o'clock at the home of Mr. and: Mrs. Wm. Broek and at one thirty o'clock at the Protestant Reformed Church. Rev. James Van Weelden officiated.
Burial took place at the. local cemetery and acting as paul bearers were Henry Sneider, Nick Aardema, Martin Rotier, John Van Binsbergen Sr.,
Nick Buyert and Wm. Pelskamp
