Clarence De Groot,65, of Sioux Center died on August 30, Funeral services were at Frist Christian Reformed Church in Orange City September 1. Officiating at the service were the Rev. Harold De Groot and the Rev. Ralph Pontier.

Mr. De Groot was born September 26, 1926 on a farm near Orange City to Leonard and Janna (Vegter) De Groot. He attended rural school in the Orange City area. On June 24, 1947, he and Jeanette Andringa of Orange City were married. After their marriage, they farmed in the Sanborn area, before entering into sales in 1967. He and his wife retired in Sioux Center in October 1989. Mr. De Groot was a lifetime member of the Christian Reformed Church

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette , two sons, Leonard and Sue De Groot of Orange City and Dick and Bonnie De Groot of Aberdeen, South Dakota, three daughters, Caryl and Brian Dokter of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Ann and Evan Ter Horst of Ireton and Janna and Russ Vande Griernd of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 13 grandchildren , Amy, David and Jan De Groot ; Craig,Angela, Eldon De Groot; Michael and Derek Dokter; Ben Aimee, Dustin Ter Horst, and Heather and Ryan Vande Griend; five brothers John, Bill, Harold,Harvey and Leo De Groot; and one sister Janice Mouw.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Clarena Van Gelder and Theresa Kuiper; and a grandson Travis Ter Horst. Funeral arrangements were made by Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux center
