Charles A. Auchstetter,age 93, of Hospers, Iowa passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, February 2, 1999 at his home.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 8, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Chruch in Hospers. Msgr. Kenneth Seifried and Rev. Richard Rels officiated with burial at the St. Anthony's Cemetery in Hospers. Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen, Iowa was in charge of arrangments. Casket bearers were Steve Auchstetter, Tony Auchstetter, Dick Gettler, Mike Jungers, Tom Jungers and Richard Schnurr.

Charles was the son of John and Elizabeth (Keup) Auchstetter was born March 21, 1905 at rural Hospers. He was raised in the Hospers area. He graduated from St. Anthony's Grade school and Hospers High School. He was then engaged in farming in the Hospers area. He married the former Sophia Jungers June 22, 1931 at St. Anthont's Catholic Chruch in Hospers. They farmed near Hospers until retiring January 1, 1975. He was the executor director of the ASCS office at Orange City for Sioux County from 1953 until 1975. They moved into Hospers in August 1975. Sophia died July 10 1998,

Charles was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus of Granville, Iowa. He was active in Community affairs having been past president of the Orange City Lions Club, past president of the Farmer Cooperative Oil Company, past director of the American State Bank, past president of the Hospers School Board for 30 years,
