John Miniets, 85, of Hawarden, IA, died on Thursday, April 22, 1993, at Hass Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden.
Services were held on Monday afternoon, April 26, 1993, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron, IA, where he was a member of the Revernd Allen Bidne officiating. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery at Craig, IA, under the direction of the Porter-Dow Funeral Home in Hawarden.
Mr. Miniets was born February 2, 1908, in Plymouth County, IA, near Akron, the son of John and Heleana (Ludwigs) Miniets. He married Lois Boisen and they farmed near Chatsworth, IA. She died in 1976. He married Hazel Jessie Cain on October 12,1978, at Akron, and they lived near Chatsworth until moving to Hawarden 1984.
Survivors include his wife; a step-son, Robert Cain of Hawarden; a sister, Annie (Mrs. Glenn) Boisen of Pipestone MN four stepgrand children; and four stepgreat-grand children.
In addition to his paretns and hnis first wife, he was also preceded in death by a son, Dennis.
