Mrs. Mitchell, 67 Dies in Sioux City
Ireton, IA - Mrs. Gertrude E. Mitchell, 67, former Ireton resident died at her home in Sioux City Friday.
Mrs. Mitchell lived in Ireton for many Years, and while there built the Apera (Opera) house, which is now Braaks Blacksmith Shop. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Ireton Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include the widower (Merton Leroy); a daughter, Mrs. William Westergaard of Le Mars; three sons, Gilbert L. Mitchell of Kirby AR, Orvil of Blakesville AR, and Wayne of Portland OR.
Funeral services were held in Sioux City Monday and burial was hled in the Ireton cemetery on Tuesday morning.
