Sunday J. W. DeRoos died at the home of his son-in-law Jouke Mulder, he was 85 years of age. Funeral at the First Ger. Kerk (Reformed)
(From several accounts on ancestry.com it was found that Jan Willems De Roos was born 6 Dec 1816 at Wommels, Friesland Netherlands, died 9 Feb 1902 at Sioux Center IA. His parents were willem Lammerts De Roos 1782-1852 and Mintje Oepkes Vellinga 1785-1842.
He was married three times:
1. Akke Baukes Seffinga married 1942 born 1820-1843 no children.
2. Folkertje Jans Krol 1820-1860 married 1846, Children - Willem Jan De Roos 1846; Jan De Roos 1848; Dieuwke De Roos 1850-1907; Oepke De Roos 1853; Mintje 1856-1924
3. Akke Klazes Visser 1835-1900 married 1860,
They had the following children: Trijntje De Roos 1862-1943; Taekje De Roos 1866-1939; Klaas De Roos 1870; Anna De Ross 1874-1955 )
