Nelliemae Miller, age 70 died Sunday, January 16 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls SD. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2000 at Porter Funeral home in Rock Valley. Burial was held at Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley. Visitation took place Tuesday January 18.
Nelliemae Miller was born on May 21, 1929 in Blue Rapids, KS daughter of Nels and Mary Newman. She attended school in Blue Rapids. Nelliemae married Elmer Lawrence Miller Sr. and they lived in Perkins IA. Elmer died in 1964. After Elmer's death, the family lived in various places such as Rock Valley and Inwood IA; Tacoma WA; Sioux City IA. In 1969 the family moved to Hawarden IA. Nelliemae was a resident of the Hillcrest Care Center in Hawarden before moving to Sioux Falls. Nelliemae loved playing Bingo and babysitting for her friends and family.
Surviving relatives include two sons; Elmer Miller of Beresford SD and Paul Miller of Hawarden IA; four daughters and their husbands; Mary and Edward Elms of St. Petersburg FL, Helen and Jerry Ymker of Hawarden IA, Marlene and Terry Hulstein of Hawarden IA and Barbara Ymker of Centerville IA; one brother and his wife, Marvin and Beulah Newman of WA; two sisters Margert Svaleson and Bernice Parker; seventeen grand and sixteen great grandchildren.
Nelliemae was preceded in death by her parents: Husband Elmer, borther Maynard; and three grandchildren.
