Dan Lee,93, a resident of Hawarden for 12 years died Sunday night from heat exhaustion at the Hawarden hospital.

Mrs. Wm. Kelly, his sister went to his home in the afternoon and found Mr. Lee in an unconscious condition. He was taken to the Hawarden hospital where he died several hours later without regaining consciousness. Funeral Service were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Barnard Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Kruschwitz of the First Methodist church officiating. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery.

Dan Lee was born August 1, 1860 at Fenimore, Wis. For a number of years he was employed on ther railroad at Waukon Junction, Iowa. Later he came to Hawarden where did gardening.

His only survivor is his sister Mrs. Wm. Kelly. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
