LECHTENBERG, GOEBEL, HOEFLER

Hugo B. Lechtenberg.83, of Granville died Wednesday in the Orange City Hospital, after a brief illness.

Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joesph's Catholic Church in Granville. Thr Rev. Francis J. Memmers officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery under the direction of the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsem.

Mr. Lechtenberg was born March 29, 1900, at Granville where he was raised and educated. He married Martha Goebel Nov. 25, 1925, at Luxemburg. They farmed in the Granville area until retiring in 1964 and moving into town in 1965

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Knights od Columbus, both of Granville. He was a committeeman for the Agricultural Stabilation and Conservation Service of Sioux County during the 1940 and 1950s.

Survivors include his wife; one son David of St. Peter, Minn., one brother, Raymond of Downey, Calif., two sisters, Mrs. John(Amelia) Pierre of Sioux City and Mrs. Ivan(Agatha) Stay of Huntington Park, Calif., and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick (Bernadine Hoefler) Lechtenberg, one daughter , Geraldine, four brothers, Joseph, Victor, Cletus and Leo; two sisters, Mrs. Theodore(Mathilda) List and Mrs. Patrick(Justine) Gorman.
