Rev.John Friesema,70, of Rock Valley died Thursday, December 10,1987 of an apparent heart attack in a Sioux Falls, SD., Hospitial.

Services were held arf 2 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 15 at the Porter Funeral Home at Rock Valley. The Rev. LeRoy Shelton Officiated. Burial was in the Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley, Visitation with the family was held at the funeral home.

Friesema was born July 24, 1917, at Paterson,NJ. He married Jane Van Zweden on August 28, 1940, at Passaic N.J. He served in the Navy during World War II from September 1943-1946. He worked for Jack Quard Weaving at Paterson until moving to Rock Valley in 1957, where he was a saleman for the Atistic Label Co., of New Jersey. He was ordained into the ministry and founded the Mt. Zion Gospel Church at Rock Valley in August 1975.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Ed of Holiday, Fla., and Charles of Toms River, NJ., two sisters, Mrs. Ahnes Van Lenton of Sun City, Ariz., and Mrs. Bert (Nell) Vander Have of Oakland, NJ.
