Jennie A. Miller 84, Hawarden, died suddenly on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center.
Funeral Service was Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Hawarden, with the Rev. Dean Shelly officiating. Burial was in Valley View cemetery in Rock Valley. Porter Funeral HOme in Hawarden, was in charge of arrangements.
Jennie A. Miller was born Nov 7, 1916 at Rock Valley, to Peter and Jennie Buitenhuis Smit. She married Russel H. Miller on Aug 18, 1941 at Sheldon. They made their home in Rock Valley. Mr. Miller died Feb 21, 1965. Mrs. Miller moved to Hawarden in 1983, returned to Rock Valley and then moved to Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden in 1986.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: Two sons, Russell Miller of Canton, and Wayne Miller of Hawarden; two daughters, Elsie Evans of Cedar Rapids and Kathryn Den Boer of Sioux Falls; two daughters in law, Bonnie Miller of Hawarden and Diana Miller of Canton; 18 grand and 45 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sons, Harvey Lloyd Miller and Peter Calvin Miller.
