J. L. Miller, one of the pioneer settlers of this section, died at his home in the northeast part of this city Tuesday morning. He was born in new York, but moved to Union County SD and took a homestead four miles north west of Hawarden 24 years ago. He was 64 years of age last May, and was well known and highly respected by all the old settlers in the Sioux Valley.
