Irene Miller 79, of Rock Valley died Friday, March 3, 1989 in Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley.
Services will be held today, Wednesday, March 8, 1989 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rock Valley with the Rev. Donald R. Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Vistiation was held in the Porter Funeral Home on Tuesday with the rosary recited at 8 p., Tuesday in the funeral home.
Mrs. Miller the former Irene DeSmet was born Oct 28, 1909 in Rock Valley. she attended rural school, St. Mary's School and graduated from Rock Valley Community School she taught in rural schools for ten and one half years. On April 6, 1939, she married Clarence Miller at Rock Valley. The couple made their home in Rock Valley where he was manager of the Coop Gas Station. He died Oct 31, 1978.
Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Guild.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Arlyn and Lolly and Michael and Susan, all of Denver; a daughter, Mrs. Joel Barbara Gilman of Mankato MN; two grandchildren, Andrea Miller and Julie Gilman; and three sisters Mrs. Lucy Wiering of Larchwood, Mrs. Martha Remmerde of Sioux Falls SD and Mrs. Alice Vugteveen of Rock Valley.
