Last Rites held Saturday for Harvey Miller.
Funeral services for Harvey Miller, 45, of Hudson, brother of Mrs. Jerry Jensen of Hawarden, who died Wednesday in a Sioux City Hospital from burns suffered on September 28 in an explosion in a grain elevator at Leeds when a spark from his torch ignited grain dust, were held at 2 o'clock Saturday at the Hudson Lutheran church.
Rev. O. Everson officiated with burial in Eden cemetery at Hudson.
Mr. Miller was a welder employed by D. & W. construction company of Sioux Falls and was doing some welding in a bin at the Bartlett & Co. grain elevator at the time of the accident when he was badly burned.
He was born in Sioux county on a farm near Hudson September 28, 1918 and farmed in Sioux county and in Lincoln county SD until moving to Hudson three years ago.
Survivors include the widow; five sons, Gerald, stationed at Ellworth Air Force Base at Rapid City SD, Gilbert of Jacksonville FL, Ward of Hudson, and Michael and David, both at home; five daughters, Mrs. Walter H. Bakker of Hudson and Marjorie, Pamela, Peggy and Laura, all at home; His mother, Mrs. Adelina Miller of Hudson; his grandmother, Mrs. Minna Schuldt of Hudson; Two brothers, Howard and Roger, both of Hudson and four sisters, Mrs. Bill Chapman of Stratton NE, Mrs. Austin Magee of Miami, Mrs. Bill Van Mannen of Rock Valley and Mrs. Jerry Jensen of Hawarden.
