Mrs. Fred A. Miller, 74, of Rock Valley, a former longtime resident of Garfield township, died Saturday morning in a Sioux City hospital following an illness of several months.
Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Peace Lutheran church northeast of Hawarden with Rev. Schmidt of Craig officiating.
Emma Bauder was born at Elgin IA, January 22, 1880, and came to this part of Iowa when a child. She was married to Fred A. Miller of Garfield township on December 18, 1907. Four children were born to this uion. When they retired Mr. and Mrs. Miller moved to Rock Valley.
She was baptized and confirmed in Peace Lutheran church June 24, 1925.
Survivors include the widower: two daughters, Florence at home and Mrs. Peter Van Driel of Rock Valley; two sons, Laurence of Parkland WA, and Alvin of Rock Valley; a sister, Mrs. Ida Miller of Rock Valley; a brother George Bauder of Long Beach CA, and nine grandchildren.
