Ernest F. Miller, 94, died Tuesday, Jun 29, 1993, in Valley Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley.
Mr. Miller was born Oct 21, 1898, in rural Sioux county IA.
He married Margret 'Greta' Hmann on Feb 14, 1923, south of Rock Valley. They farmed southwest of Rock Valley until moving into Rock Valley in 1959. He was in a partnership with his son, owning and operating Don's Bowl bowling alley.
He was a former Garfield Township trustee, member of the Sioux county Board of Review for 15 years, and a council member of Peace Lutheran Church for three years.
Survivors include his wife, Greta; one son, Donald and his wife, Josephine of Rock Valley; one daugther Mrs. Gerrit Betty DeBoer of Sibley IA; six grandchildren; Vicki, Gary, Randy, and Lori DeBoer, Keith A. and Jeraldene A. Miller; and five great grandchildren: Wendy DeBoer, Kyle A. Miller Gray, Spencer A. Miller, Jordon A. Miller, and Brandon A. Miller.
Services were held at 10:30 a. m. Saturday in Pioneer United Methodist Chruch in Rock Valley, with burial in Valley View Cemetery. Porter Funeral HOme of Rock Valley was in charge of arrangements.
