Cornelius Kool passed away Saturday at the home of his son, John, at Alton. He was nearly 87 years old. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the First Reformed Church of Alton, and burial was also at Alton.

Mr. Kool was born December 17,1858 in The Netherlands. He came to Pella at the age of 24 and a few years later moved to Sioux County. On December 2, 1890, he was married at Alton to Rena Mulder. Eight children were born to them. Two daughters died in infancy, and a son Andrew, passed away in June 1937. Mrs Kool died in January of 1940.

Surviving are two daughters and three sons; Anne (Mrs. E.J.Roelfson) of Alton,Margaret (Mrs. Gerorge Van Peursen) of Los Angeles, Calif., John and Tom of Orange City, and James of Boyden. There are seventeen grandchildren. Two brothers and three sisters, living in Pella also survive
