Henry Koopmans
Birth: September 19, 1920
Death: March 12, 1985

Henry Koopmans, 64, of Ireton died Tuesday, March 12, at Rochester, Minn.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ireton. The Rev. Paul Sieveking officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. A prayer service was at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 1985 in the Dow Funeral Home in Ireton.
Mr. Koopmans was born Sept. 19, 1920, near Alcester, S.D. and moved to the Ireton area in 1923. He farmed the family homestead the last 50 years. He married Leona Van Wyhe, Feb. 25, 1944, at Ireton.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Surviors include his wife; five sons, Robert of Hawarden, Arven, Ronnie, Randy and Jim, all of Ireton; five daughters, Mrs. Bernie (Janice) Fedders and Mrs. Albert (Sharole) Rans, both of Ireton, Mrs. Stan (Sandy) Altena of Sioux Center, Mrs. William (Jeanna) Martinsen of Hawarden, and Lea Ann Koopmens of Ireton; two brothers, Arven of Renton, Wash. and William of Ireton; three sisters, Mrs. Harm (Margaret) Ten Napel, Mrs. Earl (Henrietta) Kooi and Mrs. Andy ( Jeanette) Anema, all of Ireton and 16 grandchildren.
