ORANGE CITY—Kristin "Kris" L. Minton, 52, Orange City formerly of Sergeant Bluff, died Friday, Jan. 21, at a care facility in Orange City.
Services were Tuesday, Jan. 25, at First Reformed Church in Boyden, with the Rev. Matt Draffen officiating. Burial was at Sheridan Township Cemetery in Boyden, under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.
Kris Minton, daughter of Melvin and Alyce (Hoogland) Brands, was born Oct. 26, 1958, in Sioux Center. She attended school in the Boyden-Hall School District. She lived in Sioux City during the early 1980s to early 1990s and later in Sheldon. She moved to Sergeant Bluff in 2007. Due to her health, she moved to a care facility in Orange City last week.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Brands and Shannon Minton; a daughter Michelle Minton; two grandchildren; her father, Melvin Brands; a brother, Edward and Bethany Brands; and two sisters, Joleen and Randy Baumgarn and Emily and Jim Hanno.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alyce Brands.
