Gene Ray Van Wyhe, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Van Wyhe, was born January 8, 1953, at Hawarden, Iowa, and passed away June 14, 1970, at the age of 17 years, five months and six days.
He was baptized February 1, 1953, and was confirmed June 18, 1967, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Gene attended West Sioux Community High Schools completing his junior year this spring.
He is survived by his parents; four borthers, James of Ireton, Kenneth of Hawarden, Lawrence of Sheldon and Dale living at home; three sisters, Mrs. John (Patricia) Clarke of Davenport, Iowa, Mrs. Melvin (Linda) Kruid of Hawarden and Joann living at home; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Van Wyhe, Sr., of Ireton.
