William Gant, 77, of Akron died Dec. 8 at the Akron Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Services were at 10:30 A.M., Dec. 10 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Akron. The Rev. Stanley Stone officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Akron with the Schroeder Funeral Home in charge. There was a rosary for the Catholic Daughters of America at 4 P.M., and a rosary for the public at 8 P.M., Dec. 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Gant was born Sept. 21, 1898 in Westfied. He married Edith Kinleyside in 1924 in Sioux City. They farmed near Westfield and Akron until retiring in 1968.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, William of Hawarden and Robert of Sioux City; three daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Sally) Harrington of Laurel, Neb., Mrs. Ruben (Dorothy) Engel of Sioux City and Mrs. Raymond (Kathleen Rose) Janosky of Downer's Grove, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. James (Gladys) Cahill of Tulsa, Okla, and Mrs. Ralph (Rita) Kirby of Chula Vista, Calif.
