Funeral services were held at the Vander Ploeg Chapel here at 10 A.M., Tuesday for John Brandts, 79, former Sioux Center resident and one time manager of the local telephone company, who died Saturday morning at Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Marion Klaaren and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home.

Mr. Brandts was born October 29, 1885, at Orange City.

Survivors include two sons, Ray of Sheldon and Charles of Grand Rapids, Mich., and one daughter, Della Tengay of DeWitt, Mich. Also surviving him are eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, Jerry, Bill and Percy, preceded him in death.

Pallbearers were John Buysman, Marvin Donkersloot, Darrel Calsbeek, Lee Christensen, Dean Christensen and William Lander.
