Henry A. Jonker dies,
Wednesday, December, 20, 1961
Funeral services for Henry A. Jonker, 57, well-known Orange City auctioneer and real estate agent, were held Saturday at the First Christian Reformed church in Orange City with the Rev. J. B. Hulst officiating. Mr. Jonker died suddenly of a heart attack early Wednesday afternoon Dec. 20.
He was born on a farm northwest of Orange City on April 13, 1904 to Mr. and Mrs. Arie Jonker. He was married to Bertha De Beer in March of 1927 and the couple established residence on
a farm near Sanborn where they lived for six years. Returning to Orange City, he set up a real estate business in 1937. Last year, the firm was joined by Tom De Jong.
Survivors are the. widow; three sons, Arthur of Osage, Wilfred and Terry of Orange City; two daughters, Mrs. (Elaine) Bernard Hietbrink of Riverdale, Ill., and Mrs. (Fay) Kenneth Pluim of
Sioux Center; his mother, Mrs. A. Jonker; three brothers, Clarence and August, both of Orange City, and Jacob of Bellflower, California; two sisters, Mrs. Delvin Brink of Hull and Priscilla of Orange City and 12 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were William, Alfred and Alvin Bomgaars, Fred De Beer, John De Beer, jr., and Henry J. Jonker.
Interment was in the Orange City Cemetery.
